At 28, he joined Nexstar Media Group's executive team as VP of Engineering, overseeing high-traffic digital platforms serving millions of users. Ovunc began his engineering career building mission-critical systems across Europe, working in Turkey’s defence industry and at one of the country’s largest banks. At Hearst UK, he led the development of high-performance data infrastructure powering large-scale digital publishing platforms used by millions of readers worldwide. In 2018, he founded Flatiron Software with a vision to bring that same depth of engineering thinking to enterprises globally. Under his leadership, the company has grown into a distributed engineering organization spanning multiple countries and hundreds of engineers, delivering complex software platforms and strategic technology solutions for leading international media and technology companies. Flatiron was built on the belief that world-class engineering and thoughtful problem-solving can transform how global organizations build and scale digital products.
